India initiates anti-dumping investigation against Chinese viscose filament yarn

On March 29, 2025, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that, in response to an application submitted by the Association of Man-Made Fibre Industry of India and domestic company Grasim Industries Limited, it will initiate an anti-dumping investigation regarding viscose rayon filament yarn (VFY) above 75 deniers originating from or imported from China. This case primarily involves products under Indian Customs codes 54031090, 54033100, 54033200, 54033300, 54033990, 54034110, 54034150, 54034190, 54034911, 54034912, 54034913, 54034919, and 54034990. The investigation does not include viscose filament yarn produced using spool spinning technology or ready-to-use embroidery thread on small spools categorized under 5401. The period for the anti-dumping investigation is from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024 (12 months), and the damage investigation periods are from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
