Rayon yarn exports of China rely much on Brazil in Oct

According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China increased by 7% month on month but fell by 7% year on year to 8.4kt in Oct. Among them, the export of single yarn was 7.281kt, with a year-on-year decline of 4% but month-on-month growth of 13%, and that of ply yarn was 1.12kt, with a year-on-year reduction of 25% and a month-on-month decrease of 22%. In Jan-Oct, the exports decreased by 33% year on year to 79.174kt.

In Oct, the export of rayon yarn to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam) was 6.765kt, with a year-on-year decrease of 14% but month-on-month increase of 21%, taking up 81% of the total. The export to Brazil occupied a higher percentage in the recent years.

The main origins of rayon yarn in Oct were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan, with an export volume of 7.642kt, a year-on-year decrease of 6% but month-on-month increase of 7%, occupying 91% of the total. Among the five major origins, only Xinjiang and Zhejiang saw a month-on-month increase, especially the former, and there was a decline for other regions.

The export volume of rayon yarn in Oct improved somehow compared to the previous month, but remained mediocre. The overall exports mainly relied on Brazil as the percentage of exports to Brazil has been a higher level in the recent years. The export from Xinjiang has surged, but the absolute volume was not large. Overall, there were not many highlights in the export market.
