October BDO exports continue growing
According to the latest data from China customs, exports of products under Hs code 29053990, including BDO, amounted to 30278 tons in October 2024, up 54.1% m-o-m and 212.2%year-on-year respectively. The export unit price averaged at $1.154/kg, down $0.308/kg over last month.
According to the screening data from CCFGroup, exports of BDO were near 24kt in October, up by near 76.2% month on month and surging 299.9% on the year respectively.
Export of BDO increased on the month in October and the increase was mainly from Vietnam and South Korea. Other markets did not fluctuate much on the month.
Exports to Vietnam exceeded 10kt in October, soaring by near 105% year on year. The exports to South Korea approached near 4000 tons, apparently moving up on the year. Demand for BDO grew outside China and supply reduced affected by the turnaround of units. As a result, exports of BDO rose on the month in China. Price of BDO decreased to bottom in September, promoting the buying intention of overseas buyers. In addition, as the export price was relatively higher, companies were more inclined to export. Export of BDO hiked over last month but remained low compared with the peak in the first half of year.
Jiangsu kept the major export origin of BDO in October, with export volume up by near 278% on the month and the market share at around 50%. Exports from Inner Mongolia and Sichuan also soared on the month. Other markets did not fluctuate much on the month.
