China's PSF exports reach a record high in May, 2024

According to the China Customs, uncombed or uncarded PSF exports of China reached 125kt in May, 2024, up 27.7% year on year and 20.5% month on month, to reach a historical high. Imports were about 8,380 tons, up 17.5% year on year and up 2.9% month on month.

In Jan-May 2024, the exports amounted to 508.1kt, up 0.71% from the same period of 2023, to be the highest during 2019-2024.

In terms of the top 10 export destinations in the first five months, Vietnam remained the largest export markets, with a volume of 108,959 tons, up about 32% or 26,555 tons from the same period of 2023. Russia saw the second largest volumes of 9,852 tons year on year to 26,284 tons, and the yearly growth reached a high of nearly 60%. Pakistan ranked the second place, with a volume of 52,539 tons, but down 12% year on year. Exports to Indonesia saw the largest decline, down by 41% year on year. Exports to Brazil and the United States also declined obviously.

For the exports in May 2024, Vietnam continued to rank the top, and the proportion expanded. Pakistan took the second place, with a proportion of 14.81%. The position of Bangladesh has reduced to 7th. Export proportion of Russia increased to 5%, ranking the 5th place.
