Mexico launches sunset review of anti-dumping investigation on PSF from China
On July 1, 2024, the Mexican Ministry of Economy announced that, at the request of the Mexican company Alpek Polyester México, S.A. de C.V., an anti-dumping sunset review investigation was initiated on polyester staple fiber originating in China. The dumping investigation period of this case is from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, and the damage investigation period is from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2024. During the investigation of the case, the current anti-dumping duties will remain in effect. The products involved are polyester staple fiber with a fiber density greater than 1 denier and less than or equal to 3.2 deniers and a tenacity less than 6.9 grams/denier, but do not include dyed fibers (including black) and low-melting or siliconized fibers. The TIGIE tax number of the product involved is 5503.20.99. The announcement will take effect from the day after it is issued.
On February 6, 2018, Mexico launched an anti-dumping investigation on polyester staple fiber originating from China. On November 30, 2018, Mexico made a preliminary ruling on the case. On July 1, 2019, Mexico made an affirmative final ruling on the case and began to impose an anti-dumping duty of US$0.46/kg on the products involved.
