Polyester cord fabric import and export diversified in Jan-Feb, 2025
According to the data from China customs, import of cord fabric made from high-tenacity polyester yarn (hereinafter referred to as polyester cord fabric) was at 455 tons in Jan-Feb, 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 59%, and export of polyester cord fabric was at 27818 tons, up near 10% on annual basis. The net exports amounted to 27363 tons, up by 13% on annual basis.
Polyester cord fabric is still a net exported product in China.
Monthly exports of polyester cord fabrics averaged at 13909 tons in Jan-Feb, 2025. Imports of polyester cord fabrics hit the lowest level in Feb at 201 tons since last year, with monthly import in Jan and Feb both down on the year.
Among the export destinations, in Jan-Feb, 2025, Thailand kept the largest export destination, accounting for around 26.2%, followed by Japan and South Korea, taking up around 9.9% and 7.4% respectively. China's polyester cord fabrics were still mostly exported to Asia.
As for the YOY change of absolute export volume, export to the top five export markets all increased and the increment of Thailand was the biggest.
In summary, the export of polyester cord fabrics increased on the year in Jan-Feb, 2025 but the import fell on annual basis, and the major export destinations did not change too much.
