November Export Performance:

Total textile and apparel exports: $2.61 billion, up 5.4% YoY, down 14.7% MoM.

Textile exports: $1.49 billion, up 2.3% YoY, down 18.8% MoM.

Apparel exports: $1.12 billion, up 9.8% YoY, down 8.6% MoM.

January–November Cumulative Performance:

Total textile and apparel exports: Up 6.5% YoY.

Textile exports: Up 5.5% YoY.

Apparel exports: Up 8% YoY.

Export growth was consistent across all months except January, with apparel showing stronger recovery compared to textiles. However, November's significant MoM decline reflects potential seasonal or market disruptions.

Compared to 2022 and 2021, overall textile and apparel exports are still slightly lower, down 4.4% from 2022 and down 6.8% from 2021. Most products experienced growth in the first 11 months, except jute products (including coverings), which fell 1.5% YoY. Export levels remain below 2021–2022 benchmarks, despite recovery.

Apparel dominates with over 40% share of total exports. Cotton yarn, fabrics, and related products account for nearly one-third of exports. Man-made yarn, fabrics, and products contribute approximately 13%. For other categories, handicrafts (excluding handwoven carpets), carpets, and jute products, including floor coverings, hold a relatively minor share.

India's textile and apparel export sector shows signs of recovery, particularly in apparel, which outpaces textiles in growth. However, the recovery remains uneven, as total export volumes have not yet returned to the levels of 2021 or 2022. November's sharp MoM decline highlights ongoing challenges, though cumulative growth suggests resilience in certain product segments.
