On March 21, Zara opened its new Asian flagship store in Nanjing's Xinjiekou, covering a retail area of over 2,500 square meters. The store features the first Zacaffèand automated conveyor system in the Asian market, as well as the world's first Zara self-service vending machine, trendy selfie booth, and Zara salon.

The Zara Asian flagship store is located in Nanjing Xinjiekou, known as "China's Number One Commercial Circle," which is at the geographical center of Nanjing, close to the sales champion Nanjing Deji Plaza and IFC.

Recently, Zara's parent company Inditex reported its fiscal results for 2024, showing a revenue increase of 7.5% year-on-year to EUR 38.6 billion, and a net profit rise of 9.0% to EUR 5.9 billion (approximately 304.3 billion RMB and 46.5 billion RMB respectively). The gross profit margin was 57.8%, consistent with the same period last year.

The report also indicated that by the end of fiscal year 2024, the group operated 5,563 stores and continued to optimize and upgrade them, opening 257 new stores throughout the year and renovating 254 stores, with 121 undergoing expansions and 386 stores optimized or merged.

Currently, Zara's "closing small stores and opening larger ones" model has begun to take shape in the Chinese market. Aside from the flagship store opening in Nanjing on March 21, the Shenzhen Yifang City store is undergoing renovation, expected to reopen in April. The Shanghai Nanjing East Road flagship store's renovation is also planned.
