China's retail sales of textiles and garments increase in May, 2024

China's retail sales value of consumer goods totaled 3.9211 trillion Yuan in May 2024, up 3.7% year on year. In Jan-May 2024, the cumulative retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 19.5237 trillion Yuan, up 4.1% year on year.

In May 2024, the retail value of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size was 114.76 billion yuan, up 4.4% year on year. In Jan-May, the cumulative retail sales of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size totaled 585.55 billion yuan, up 2% year-on-year.

In May 2024, the retail value of apparel goods above designated size was 81.5 billion yuan, up 3.2% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative retail value of apparel was 427.8 billion yuan, up by 1.4% year-on-year.
