Impact of Brazil’s anti-dumping investigation on Chinese PSF
Recently, Brazil initiates an anti-dumping investigation into polyester staple fiber originating in China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.
In 2023, Brazil imported 138,000 tons of PSF, and China, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia were the major origins, talking a share of 78% of its total imports.
Looking from the average price, the prices from the four origins were generally lower than the overall imported price.
In 2023, China exported 1.20 million tons of PSF, and the exports to Brazil announced for 4.7%, ranking the sixth place.
In terms of the five-year export data, China's PSF exports to Brazil was growing overall.
After the development of refining-chemical integration, Chinese polyester industrial chain has faced intense competition, but the products also have price advantage on the international market, which cannot avoid the anti-dumping investigation from other countries.
