By the week ending Sep 5, about 94% U.S. cotton crops have been setting bolls, up 8% from last week, down 2% from a year ago, and down 3% from five-year average, according to USDA. About 29% of the crops is bolls opening, up 8% from last week, down 7% from a year ago, and down 5% from five-year average.

Crop condition is 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 50 percent good and 11 percent excellent.
