Spunlace nonwovens export of China hit a 43-month high in Oct

According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens increased by 22% year on year and 11% month on month to 36.209kt in Oct 2024. The export price slipped by 4% year on year but inched up by 1% month on month to $2,218/mt. The export volume in Oct hit a 43-month high.

In Oct, the export volume of spunlace nonwovens to the five major destinations (South Korea, US, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) reached 18.45kt, a year-on-year increase of 9%, taking up 51% of the total, the lowest percentage since this year. The export to the major destinations generally declined in Oct on yearly basis but rose on monthly basis, and the volume to various regions was slightly scattered.

The export from the main origins for spunlace nonwovens (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) grew by 23% year on year to 30.45kt, taking up 84% of the total. The exports of major origins in Oct generally increased on monthly and yearly basis, except for a notable decline of Fujian compared to the previous month. In Oct, the export from Fujian was less than that of Beijing or Anhui.

China's spunlace nonwovens export volume in Oct hit a 43-month high by growing notably on both monthly and yearly basis. The export volume to the major five destinations generally increased, but the growth was not large, indicating scattered growth of the exports. The exports to Brazil, Indonesia, Columbia and Philippines were more evident. The export from the major origins generally grew, except for a reduction of Fujian on monthly basis, with the volume already less than that of Beijing or Anhui.
