Spunlace nonwovens export of China likely to hit new highs in 2024
According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens in Mar 2024 increased by 10% year on year and 45% month on month to 34.621kt. The average price was $2,364/mt, a year-on-year decrease of 6% but a month-on-month growth of 6%. In the first quarter, the export volume grew by 13% on yearly basis.
In Mar 2024, the export volume of spunlace nonwovens to the five major destinations (the Republic of Korea, the United States, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) reached 19.041kt, a year-on-year increase of 12%, accounting for 55% of the total export volume. The export to the US saw better growth on both monthly and yearly basis, and that to the Republic of Korea recovered evidently.
In Mar, the main origins for spunlace nonwovens (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) had an export volume of 29.599kt, a year-on-year increase of 8%, accounting for 85% of the total export volume. Since 2023, the export from Beijing has gradually surpassed that to Fujian, and there may be re-ranking later.
The export of spunlace nonwovens in Mar remains strong with minor increase in the export price, and the export volume of 2024 is still expected to hit new highs. The export to the major five destinations grows on both monthly and yearly basis, especially better performance of US, Vietnam and Brazil. As for the origins, the export from Shandong, Jiangsu and Guangdong performs well.
