Brazil launches anti-dumping investigation into Chinese PSF

On March 21, 2024, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria, Comércio e Serviços/Secretaria de Comércio Exterior) issued Announcement No. 11 of 2024 stating that in response to an application submitted by the Brazilian domestic industry association (Associação Brasileira de Produtores de Fibras Artificiais e Sintéticas) on October 31, 2023, it initiated an anti-dumping investigation into polyester staple fiber (Portuguese: fiber de poliéster) originating in China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. The products under investigation are synthetic polyester fibers, including recycled fibers or virgin fibers under the tax number 5503.20.90. The dumping investigation period in this case is from July 2022 to June 2023, and the damage investigation period is from July 2018 to June 2023. The announcement shall be effective from the date of issuance.
