Ekman Group to host a 4th edition of Challenge the Fabric on May 14-15, 2024 in Milan, Italy

Ekman has hosted an event called Challenge the Fabric (CTF) the last couple of years, and it will host a fourth edition of CTF on May 14th-15th 2024 in Milan, Italy. The event is owned and managed by Ekman and organized together with the Swedish Fashion Council.

Challenge the Fabric (CTF) is a cross-industry initiative connecting the supply chain of man-made cellulosic fibres (MMCF). Together with partners from the forest, textile, and fashion industries it wants to accelerate the dialogue about man-made cellulosic fibres (MMCF) as an alternative to fabrics from non-renewable or other resource-intensive materials.

Building on last year's success, the event will feature inspiring panel discussions, keynotes, and a platform for professionals across the MMCF supply chain to connect, collaborate, and drive change at Centro Congressi Fondazione Cariplo in Milan.

New for this edition is the CTF Award where pulp and fiber producers or Next Gen innovators can submit fabrics made of their specific product, to an emerging designer or brand who will make a garment out of the fabrics. The designer and garment will then compete in the CTF award, be evaluated by a jury, and the winner will be announced on the day before the symposium. CTF Award will highlight material innovation and challenge designers to create looks made from MMCF fabrics, as a way to promote and encourage a switch to biobased and/or recycled materials.

This year's event will be held on May 14th -15th, 2024 at Centro Congressi Fondazione Cariplo in Milan, Italy.
