Spunlace nonwovens export of China in Nov hits new highs within the year
According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens in Nov 2023 hit monthly new highs of 33.019kt within the year, a year-on-year increase of 20%, and a month-on-month increase of 11%. The average price was $2,261/mt, a year-on-year decrease of 11% and a month-on-month decrease of 2%. In the first eleven months of this year, the total export volume totaled around 330kt, which has exceeded the full-year level of 2022 and 2021 respectively, and the export of 2023 will hit a record high.
In Nov 2023, the export volume of spunlace nonwovens to the five major destinations (South Korea, the United States, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) reached 18.947kt, a year-on-year increase of 15%, accounting for 57% of the total export volume. The export to the five major destinations was still growing, especially a notable growth of US. During the period, the export to the US hit a 30-month high.
In Nov, the main origins for spunlace nonwovens (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) had an export volume of 27.678kt, a year-on-year increase of 17%, accounting for 84% of the total export volume.
The export of spunlace nonwovens in Nov is slightly more than expected, even if some fabric mills have reflected weaker exports. The export volume for the first eleven months of 2023 is close to the full-year level of 2020, and has exceeded the volume of 2021 and 2022, indicating that the export of 2023 may hit a record year.
