Bangladesh enjoys rapid growth of apparel export

Bangladesh’s apparel export (calculated in BDT) continued to grow in Dec 2022, though slower than previous months. Last year, its apparel export value rose by 9.5% year-on-year in Dec, and by 71%, 50%, 27% in Jul, Aug, and Sept respectively. US import of apparel from Bangladesh declined by 5.6% in Jan 2023. However, if calculated in USD, Bangladesh’s export volume rose by 15.4% year-on-year, and the unit price also up by 22%.
