Rayon yarn export of China in Oct hits new lows within the year
China exports 9.917kt of rayon yarn in Oct 2022, down 37.37% y-o-y, including 5.924kt of single yarn and 1.015kt of ply yarn, respectively down 40.37% and 18.48% on yearly basis. Thus, the export of 100% rayon yarn occupies 70% of total rayon yarn exports. At the same time, the export of rayon blended yarn amounts to 2.978kt, down 36% y-o-y.
Rayon single yarn exported to five destinations (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) in Oct amounts to 4.552kt, down 47.91% y-o-y, accounting for 77% of total single yarn exports. The export to India keeps reducing, with the percentage hitting new lows within the year.
Rayon single yarn exported from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang and Sichuan totals 5.587kt in Oct, taking up 94% of single yarn exports, down 18% m-o-m and down 42% y-o-y. The export of major origins generally slips, except for rising volume of Fujian.
In conclusion, the export of rayon yarn in Oct hits new lows this year, which is mainly contributed by sluggish single yarn and ply yarn. However the cumulative export during Jan-Oct still grows by 20.38% y-o-y. Therefore, the overall performance is still better benefiting from the strong exports in the first half of the year. The low export volume in the past few months mainly results from instability of demand from India.
