Some natural gas-based methanol plants to shut amid gas restrictions

Qinghai Zhonghao plans to shut its 600kt/yr methanol plant fed by natural gas in Qinghai Province on Oct 29 due to gas restrictions in winter. The plant is expected to restart in Apr 2023.

Berun Group plans to shut its 1 million mt/yr natural gas-based methanol plant in Inner Mongolia in Nov due to gas restritions in winter.
