Pure rayon yarn export percentage in Jul hits new lows since Nov 2021

China exports 15.413kt of rayon yarn in Jul 2022, down 1.62% y-o-y, including 9.032kt of single yarn and 1.905kt of ply yarn, respectively down 18.85% but up 63.46% on yearly basis. Thus, the export of pure spun yarn occupies 71% of total rayon yarn exports, the lowest percentage since Nov 2021. At the same time, the export of rayon blended yarn amounts to 4.476kt, up 32.8% y-o-y.

Rayon single yarn exported to five destinations (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Vietnam) in Jul amounts to 7.805kt, down 24.9% y-o-y, accounting for 86% of total single yarn exports and the percentage has been falling for consecutive three months. The export structure has changed in Jul as the export to India has declined sharply to 965 tons, while that to Brazil rises significantly to 6.04kt with the corresponding origins of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian, hitting new highs since Feb 2021. In addition, the percentage of destinations other than the top five destinations also climbs up. If such condition continues later, there will be big changes in the export structure.

Rayon single yarn exported from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang and Sichuan totals 8.679kt in Jul, down 20% m-o-m and down 24% y-o-y. The export of major origins generally slips, except for rising volume of Xinjiang.

There is less rayon yarn export in Jul on both monthly and yearly basis, especially notable reduction of single yarn. The export to India declines notably, while that to Brazil increases sharply and the share of non-mainstream areas is rising, but the quantity is small. No big changes have occurred in the destinations of rayon single yarn.
