Test methods for metallic fiber

• The shielding effectiveness of radiation-proof clothes can be tested only by high precision apparatuses, which are generally not available to common consumers. Hence, several simple methods for the selection of radiation-proof products are introduced below:

1. Fine and minute reticular residue will be observed when metallic fiber-blended fabric is burned. That is the metallic fiber which plays the radiation-proof role.
2. Universal meter can also be used to test the electric conductivity of the clothes, as ordinary clothes are not conductive.
3. Mobile phone enwrapping test: wrap up a mobile phone completely in cloth; due to the reflection and absorption of metallic fiber-blended fabric, the signal will attenuate dramatically after a while. Sometimes this method doesn’t work as the signal-seeking capacities vary in different mobile phone. Attentions should also be paid to the way of wrapping. You can wrap the mobile phone up with more layers for longer time (4 minutes is ideal), then take it out and check whether the signal is lost or weakened. The place to test is also important-the nearer the enwrapped cell phone is to base station, the bigger the possibility of test failure will be.
4. Make a call in front of computer speakers, the electromagnetic wave emitted by the cell phone will interfere with the computer speakers and causes stray noise. Place the radiation-proof clothes in between the cell phone and the speakers at this moment; if the noise disappears immediately, it indicates that the radiation-proof clothes are shielding the radiation.

Attention of washing

1. All the anti-radiation clothes should not wash regularity, three month per time will be fine, do not wash the metal fiber coating protector lining.
2. Do not wash with a washing machine. Wash gently with your hands.
3. Do not wring or spin after washing, line dry in shade, turn away the direct sunlight and heat.
