Chiyuan Chemical's BDO unit formaldehyde circulation tower gas-phase heat recovery and utilization project successfully commences operation

On February 24, Chiyuan Chemical's BDO unit formaldehyde circulation tower gas-phase heat recovery and utilization project successfully commenced operation, marking the world's first successful application of boosted heat pump distillation latent heat energy-saving technology in the formaldehyde circulation tower of the "Reppe Process for BDO production."

The project integrates key technologies such as low-temperature difference heat exchange, multi-stage turbine steam boosting and turbine ITCC integrated control. It overcomes the difficulties of condensation and heat recovery of formaldehyde mixed gas. After the upgrade, it reduces carbon emissions by over 26,000 tons per year.
