CCA cotton planting intention survey in Jan, 2025

According to China Cotton Association's investigation over 1997 growers and 10 major cotton belts in January 2025, the cotton planting areas are likely to be 44.366 million mu nationwide, up 0.8% year on year. Cotton areas in Xinjiang may increase by 1.5% year on year, with the growth rate up by 0.5 percentage point from previous investigation, and that in Yangtze River reduced by 4.3%, with the reduction up by 0.7 percentage point, and that in Yellow River reduced by 6.7%, with the reduction up by 5.8 percentage point. Around 74% of the growers intend to maintain their areas, 5.9% and 3.5% growers intend to reduce or increase the areas respectively, and the rest have not decided yet.
