November: Vietnam's textile industry maintains strong momentum

In November 2024, Vietnam's textile industry maintained a strong performance, generally surpassing the same period in previous years, despite a slight month-on-month decline in textile and apparel export value.

Cotton Imports: YoY and MoM Growth

Vietnam imported 131,900 tons of cotton in November 2024, a year-on-year increase of 10% and a month-on-month increase of 1.5%. By country of origin, the main suppliers were Brazil, Australia, and the United States, accounting for 44.2%, 26%, and 10% of the total, respectively.

Yarn Imports: YoY and MoM Growth

Vietnam imported 111,900 tons of yarn in November 2024, up 12.3% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month. China remained the largest supplier, accounting for 71.31% of total imports.

Yarn Exports: YoY Growth, MoM Decline

Yarn exports totaled 162,000 tons in November 2024, an 8.3% year-on-year increase but a 6.6% month-on-month decline. China was the primary export destination.

Net yarn exports reached 50,100 tons, up 0.4% year-on-year but down 19.4% month-on-month.

Fabric Imports: YoY Growth, MoM Decline

Fabric imports in November 2024 amounted to $1.289 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.2% but a 2% month-on-month decrease.

Textile and Apparel Exports: YoY Growth, MoM Decline

Vietnam's textile and apparel exports totaled $3.051 billion in November 2024, a year-on-year increase of 10.9% but a 5% month-on-month decline.
