Typically, export volumes start tapering off in October. In 2024, exports showed a clear uptick, highlighting resilience and robust demand.
Regarding this issue, customs authorities previously explained that it was mainly influenced by certain sporadic factors in September, such as typhoons, global shipping disruptions, container shortages, and anticipated negotiations over the expiration of labor contracts for dockworkers on the U.S. East Coast. These factors caused fluctuations in the shipment schedule, with some shipments originally planned for September being delayed until October. Similar trends can also be observed in other related subcategories.
From a cumulative perspective, the total export volume under customs tariff chapters 50-63, which cover fibers, textiles, and clothing, achieved a year-on-year growth rate of 10% from January to October, reflecting strong overall export growth this year.
