By the week ending Oct 6, 82% of cotton bolls is opening, up 10% from previous week, up 2% from a year ago and 2% from five-year average. 26% of cotton crops has been harvested, up 6% from previous week, up 3% from a year ago and 4% from five-year average.
Crop condition is 14 percent very poor, 21 percent poor, 36 percent fair, 26 percent good and 3 percent excellent.
