China's retail sales of textiles and garments decrease in Aug, 2024

China's retail sales value of consumer goods totaled 3.8726 trillion Yuan in Aug 2024, up 2.1% year on year. In Jan-Aug 2024, the cumulative retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 31.2452 trillion Yuan, up 3.4% year on year.

In Aug 2024, the retail value of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size was 99.40 billion yuan, down 1.6% year on year. In Jan-Aug, the cumulative retail sales of apparel, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles above designated size totaled 904.64 billion yuan, up 0.3% year-on-year.

In Aug 2024, the retail value of apparel goods above designated size was 70.78 billion yuan, down 1.9% year-on-year. From January to August, the cumulative retail value of apparel was 654.46 billion yuan, down by 0.2% year-on-year.
