According to customs data, the export of spunlace nonwovens increased by 12% year on year and 2% month on month to 34.419kt in Jul. The export price fell by 6% year on year and 2% month on month to $2,201/mt, which was the next lowest record. Fabric mills reflected that the export data in Jul slightly exceeded expectations. Although some of them said that the exports were affected by the sea freight, no big changes were reflected in the data.

In Jul, the export volume of spunlace nonwovens to the five major destinations (South Korea, US, Japan, Vietnam, and Brazil) reached 17.904kt, a year-on-year increase of 8%, taking up 52% of the total. The export to the major destinations was divided, with year on year increase in South Korea, US and Japan, but reduction in Vietnam and Brazil. The export to Japan and South Korea grew notably compared to the previous month.

The export from the main origins for spunlace nonwovens (Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian) increased by 12% year on year to 28.486kt, taking up 83% of the total. The export from major origins generally increased in Jul, especially the fastest growth of Jiangsu (46%). The export from Shandong witnessed a marked decline on monthly basis, while other areas generally increased.

China's spunlace nonwovens exports remained good in Jul, not as weak as reflected by some fabric mills previously, which may be caused by the divergences in the export volume among fabric mills. Now the sea freight has been falling, and there will be restocking demand overseas, which may boost the export volume later.
