Rayon yarn export of China drops below 10kt again in Jul

According to customs data, rayon yarn export of China decreased by 38% year on year to 8.779kt in Jul. Among them, the export of single yarn was 7.67kt, with a year-on-year decline of 39%, and that of ply yarn was 1.109kt, with a year-on-year reduction of 27%. In Jan-Jul, the exports decreased by 27% year on year to 55.201kt.

In Jul, the export of rayon yarn to the five major countries (Brazil, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam) was 6.993kt, with a year-on-year decrease of 44% and month-on-month decline of 19%, taking up 80% of the total, lower than the average level within the year. Among the major destinations, only Vietnam saw an increase in Jul, but the absolute volume was small. The export to other regions generally declined.

The main origins of rayon yarn in Jul were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Sichuan, with an export volume of 8.779kt, a year-on-year decrease of 39% and month-on-month decline of 20%, occupying 87% of the total. The export of the major origins generally decreased.

The export volume of rayon yarn dropped below 10kt again in Jul after exceeding 10kt in May and Jun. The export from major origins and to major destinations generally declined. In Jan-Jul, the overall demand was weak, and the monthly export volume was generally smaller than that of past years.
