By the week ending Aug 25, 89% of crops is setting bolls, up 5% from previous week, 2% from a year ago and 1% from five-year average, according to USDA. 25% of cotton bolls is opening, up 6% from previous week, up 2% from a year ago and 2% from five-year average.

Crop condition is 12 percent very poor, 16 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 34 percent good and 6 percent excellent.
