By the week ending Aug 11, 74% of crops is setting bolls, up 11% from previous week, 5% from a year ago and 1% from five-year average, according to USDA. 13% of cotton bolls is opening, up 5% from previous week, up 1% from a year ago and 1% from five-year average.

Crop condition is 9 percent very poor, 16 percent poor, 29 percent fair, 39 percent good and 7 percent excellent.
