By the week ending Aug 4, 91% of the crops is squaring, up 4% from previous week, up 1% from a year ago, flat from five-year average, according to USDA. 60% of crops is setting bolls, up 6% from previous week, 2% from a year ago and 1% from five-year average. 8% of cotton bolls is opening.
Crop condition is 12 percent very poor, 15 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 37 percent good and 8 percent excellent.
