China's Styrene Imports and Exports (Jan-Apr 2024)

Import Summary

January Peak: January witnessed the highest quantity of styrene imports, totaling 76,435.44 tons, with a value of USD 79,414,512. This month alone accounted for a substantial portion of the total imports in the first four months of 2024. 

Significant Drop in March: There was a dramatic decrease in March, with only 1.532 tons imported, valued at a mere USD 5,511. This significant drop might indicate supply chain disruptions or reduced demand. 

Recovery in April: April showed signs of recovery with 20,447.99 tons imported, valued at USD 24,188,139, marking an increase from February and a notable improvement from March.

Cumulative Total: Over the first four months, China imported a total of 115,052.97 tons of styrene, valued at USD 123,460,646.

Dominant Suppliers: Saudi Arabia and Japan were the leading suppliers of styrene to China, contributing significantly to the total imports. Saudi Arabia accounted for 69,295.31 tons (USD 74,748,837), while Japan supplied 32,755.07 tons (USD 36,116,581).

Export Summary:

March Peak: March experienced the highest quantity of styrene exports, totaling 40,845.34 tons, with a value of USD 46,012,411. This month accounted for a significant portion of the total exports in the first four months of 2024. 

Gradual Increase: There was a steady increase in styrene exports from January to March, followed by a slight decrease in April.
