U.S. launches investigation into safeguard measures for fine-denier PSF
On February 29, 2024, the U.S. International Trade Commission will launch a global safeguard measure investigation on fine denier polyester staple fiber (fine denier PSF) products, responding to a joint application by Fiber Industries LLC (also known as Darling Fibers), Nan Ya Plastics Corp, America ("Nan Ya Plastics") and Sun Fiber LLC ("Sun Fiber").
The products under investigation involve U.S. tax number 5503200025, and China's tax number is 550320000. Since the United States launched an anti-dumping investigation on the products involved in the case in 2019, China's exports to the United States have been very low. According to U.S. Customs data, the amount of U.S. imports of products involved in the case from the world in 2023 was US$190 million, a year-on-year decrease of 5%, and the import from China was US$200,000, a year-on-year decrease of 71%, accounting for 0.1% of the world, ranking 14th.
