China coal, crude oil and natural gas production and imports in Nov 2023

Raw coal production growth accelerated and imports growth remained fast. According to National Bureau of Statistics, in November, coal production reached 410 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, with the growth rate 0.8 percentage points higher than that of October, and a daily output of 13.799 million tons. Coal imports amounted to 43.51 million tons in November, a year-on-year increase of 34.7%, with the growth rate up 11.4 percentage points compared to October.

 

From January to November 2023, coal production reached 4.24 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. Coal imports amounted to 430 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 62.8%.

 

Crude oil production growth got faster but imports growth turned negative. In November, crude oil production reached 17.20 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%, with the growth rate 2.1 percentage points higher than that of October, and a daily output of 573,000 tons. Crude oil imports amounted to 42.45 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.2%, compared to the growth of 13.6% in October.

 

From January to November 2023, crude oil production reached 191.25 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. Crude oil imports amounted to 515.65 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%.

 

Crude oil processing volume remained steady. In November, crude oil processing volume reached 59.53 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%, with the growth rate 8.9 percentage points lower than that of October, and a daily processing volume of 1.984 million tons. From January to November, crude oil processing volume reached 676.22 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%.

 

Natural gas production growth accelerated and imports growth maintained stable. In November, natural gas production reached 19.9 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, with the growth rate 2.7 percentage points higher than that of October, and a daily output of 660 million cubic meters. Natural gas imports amounted to 10.95 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%, with the growth rate 10.0 percentage points lower than that of October.

 

From January to November 2023, natural gas production reached 209.6 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%. Natural gas imports amounted to 107.40 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%, according to National Bureau of Statistics.
