Indonesia launches safeguard investigation on imported woven fabrics of artificial filament yarn

On November 1, 2023, the WTO Safeguards Committee released a notification of safeguard measures submitted by the Indonesian delegation on October 31. On October 27, 2023, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee (KPPI) launched a safeguard investigation on imported woven fabrics of artificial filament yarn upon the request of domestic producers in Indonesia. The Indonesian tariff codes of the products involved in the investigations are 5408.21.00, 5408.31.00, and 5408.33.00.

Stakeholders are required to register for defense within 15 days from the date of initiation of the investigation, both electronically and in paper. The hearing is expected to be held on November 29, 2023, Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (GMT+7), and the hearing registration will start at 9:00 a.m. (GMT+7) on the same day. Stakeholders are required to submit written hearing requests, case summary opinions, and evidence materials before November 24, 2023.
