Japan's imports of textile and apparel fall in July

The latest data show that in July, Japan imported 99kt of textile and apparel, down 6.6% year-on-year but up 4.4% month-on-month. Among them, 101kt came from China, down 13% year-on-year but up 2.7% from last month.

Apparel import was 71kt, showing a year-on-year decrease of 4.6% but rose 18% month-on-month. Among them, 39kt came from China, decreasing by 11.8% year-on-year but up 19% month-on-month.

The share of textile and apparel imports from China continuously declined over the past four months, now accounting for 50.5%.
