World's first container ship using green methanol launched
It is reported on Aug 22 that the world's first container ship using "green methanol" fuel has made its maiden voyage, marking that more ships will use methanol to reduce emissions.
It is reported that the ship is the first of the 25 methanol-powered container ships ordered by Danish shipping giant Maersk. The ship is 172m long, can use both methanol and traditional fossil fuels and can carry 2100 containers with 6 meters in length. The ship set sail from Ulsan, South Korea, and planned to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Copenhagen, Denmark.
