Japan's imports of textile and apparel fall in May

The latest data show that in May, Japan imported 187kt of textile and apparel, down 14.1% year-on-year and 6.8% month-on-month. Among them, 97kt came from China, down 17.2% year-on-year and 9.3% from last month.

As for import value, Japan's textile and apparel imports in May was 305.64 billion yen, of which the import value of apparel was 206.47 billion yen, with a growth rate of -11.9% and -11.2% respectively.  

In May, Japan imported 97kt of Chinese textile and apparel, down 17.2% year-on-year.
