U.S. makes the final ruling on the first countervailing sunset review of fine denier polyester staple fiber

On June 2, 2023, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it had made the final ruling on the first countervailing rapid sunset review of fine denier polyester staple fiber imported from China. The measures will lead to the continuation or reoccurrence of subsidies for the products involved in India at a subsidy rate of 37.75% to 47.57%.

On June 21, 2017, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched an anti-dumping investigation on imports of fine denier polyester staple fibers from China, India, South Korea, China Taiwan and Vietnam, and launched an anti-subsidy investigation on the products involved in imports from China and India. On July 13, 2017, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission terminated the anti-dumping investigation on Vietnam-related products because the U.S. company withdrew its anti-dumping application for Vietnam-related products. On January 17, 2018, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a final anti-subsidy ruling on fine-denier polyester staple fibers imported from China and India. On May 24, 2018, the U.S. Department of Commerce made the final anti-dumping ruling on fine denier polyester staple fibers imported from China, India, South Korea and China Taiwan. On February 1, 2023, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on fine denier polyester staple fibers imported from China, India, South Korea, and China Taiwan and initiated an anti-dumping sunset review investigation on fine denier polyester staple fibers and launched the First countervailing sunset review investigation imported from China and India.
