Total profit of China's chemical fiber enterprises above designated size in Jan-Feb down 97% y-o-y

According to the relevant data of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, in the first two months of 2023, the operating income of China’s chemical fiber enterprises above designated size was 142.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.0%. The total profit was 80 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 97.2%. The profit margin of operating income was 0.1%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.4 percentage points. The industry's loss was 44.6%, expanding by 5.6 percentage points year-on-year. The output of chemical fiber was 9.61 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.0%. The average number of workers in the industry was 429,000, which was the same as the same period last year.
