China's down exports fall by 17.2% and imports fall by 4.7% in Jan-Feb

From January to February 2023, China's down industry exports value totaled about $300 million, down 17.2% year-on-year. Except for down jackets, the volume and value of other down products exported declined to a greater extent than the same period last year. Exported raw wool reached 5805.2mt, with export value of $110 million, down 25.9% and 23.7% respectively; down apparel export volume and value increased significantly to 5,374,000 pcs and $120 million, up 22.6% and 5.3% year-on-year respectively. Down bedding exports totaled 7,124.3mt, generating export value of $60,649,000, down 31.8% and 27.4% year-on-year respectively.

Import

From January to February 2023, China's down industry imports value totaled about $83.207 million, down 4.7% year-on-year. Raw wool imports rose significantly to 4324.7mt, up 54.3% year-on-year; down apparel and down bedding imports both declined significantly, with down apparel imports falling more than 50% to 200,000 pcs.
