Hebi Coal Chemical's methanol unit and BDO units start operation successfully

HNEC's Hebi Coal Chemical's 600kt/year methanol unit had on-spec products on Feb 26, 2023, which started production successfully.

The BDO unit had qualified products on Feb 1, 2023.

Hebi Coal Chemical, the branch of HNEC, adopts Shell coal gasification technology, low water-steam ratio sulfur-resistant conversion, Lurgi low-temperature methanol washing, Topsoe low-pressure methanol synthesis, producing 600000 tons of methanol. It uses methanol to produce 100kt/year of 1, 4-butanediol, 60kt/year of PTMEG and 3000 tons of succinic anhydride and so on.
