Peru makes final anti-dumping decision on Chinese polyester fabric

On February 6, 2023, the Committee on Dumping, Subsidies and Non-tariff Trade Barriers of the Peruvian National Competition and Intellectual Property Protection Agency issued notice No. 006-2023/CDB-INDECOPI in the official daily Peruvian newspaper El Peruano. The 100% polyester fabric originating in China (Spanish: tejidos 100% political é ster, crudos, blancos ote ñ idos de un solo color, de ligamento Taet á n, con un ancho menor a 1.80 metros, de peso unitario entre 80 gr./m2 y 200 gr./m2) was finally decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of US$3.55/kg on the products involved. The products involved are less than 1.8 meters in width, 80 grams per square meter to 200 grams per square meter, polyester staple fiber content greater than or equal to 85% by weight, 100% plain polyester fiber fabric dyed in grey, white or monochrome, relating to products under Peruvian tax numbers 5512.11.00.00 and 5512.19.00.00. The measures would take effect from the day after the announcement and will be valid for 5 years.
 

On January 26, 2022, the Committee on Dumping, Subsidies and Non-tariff barriers to Trade of the Peruvian National Competition and Intellectual Property Protection Agency issued notice No. 007-2022/CDB-INDECOPI in response to the Peruvian enterprise Tecnologa Textil S.A. to launch an anti-dumping investigation into 100% polyester fabrics originating in China. On August 25, 2022, Peru made a positive preliminary ruling on the case and initially ruled that a provisional anti-dumping duty of US$3.93/kg would be levied on the products involved, valid for six months.
