Recycled elements in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 officially started on Monday, and the World Cup is also implementing the concept of environmental protection, low carbon and recycling. Two recycled elements are found:
1. Regenerated jerseys.
There are 32 teams participating in the Qatar World Cup finals, 13 of which wear Nike Dri-Fit ADV jerseys made of 100% renewable polyester. There are seven teams wearing Adidas jerseys, such as Germany, Argentina, Spain, Mexico and Japan. The jerseys are also made of recycled polyester and contain 50 percent Parley Ocean Plastic environmental friendly materials from remote islands, beaches, coastal areas and coastlines.
2. RPET beverage bottle
Coca-Cola provides 100% rPET packaged Coca-Cola drinks in stadiums and fan areas, and special recycling bins are set up to achieve closed-loop recycling. This is also the first time that rPET bottles have been used in the FIFA World Cup.
