Turkey to impose additional tariff on imported PSF as a safeguard measure

Ministry of Trade of Turkey released No. 2021/6 annoucement on Aug 24 2021, saying the application of a safeguard measure in the form of additional tariff for a period of three years in the import of goods classified under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position 5503.20.00.00.00. The additional tariff is determined as $0.060/kg in the first year, $0.058/kg in the second year and $0.056/kg in the third year as indicated in the table below.

The measure begins to be implemented with the entry into force of the relevant Presidential Decree.

On May 30 2020, Turkey initiated investigation on safeguard measures in PSF import.
