High-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip and 3A-grade white flake prices to slip further

After the large rise in the beginning period returning from the Chinese Lunar New Year, recycled PET market moved lower largely. Prices of bottle bales and PET flakes for HC re-PSF have erased the rise, and prices of HC re-PSF and solid re-PSF are close to the pre-holiday level. Some lower prices are even lower than the level before rise. In the meantime, due to the thin market sentiment, prices still have downward space.

By comparison, high-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip and 3A-grade white flake prices were firmer. Prices of high-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip declined by 300-500yuan/mt from previous high of 8,500yuan/mt, and recently, the mainstream offers were around 8,000-8,200yuan/mt, and prices of 3A-grade white flakes slipped from 7,500yuan/mt to 7,000yuan/mt, lowly at 6,600yuan/mt. But as the procurement was periodical, prices of high-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip and 3A-grade white flakes may keep down to 7,800-8,000yuan/mt and 6,600yuan/mt respectively. In terms of the cash flow of high-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip, it was negative for a long time this year. But on concern about the feedstock replenishment before the Chinese Lunar New Year, the profits were tolerable in March, but based on the feedstock prices in February, slight losses were seen. With the further decline of the prices, the cash flow may be not high overall at 200-300yuan/mt.

Later, high-end and eco-friendly re-PFY prices may keep down with the unfavorable anticipation, squeezing the high-end and eco-friendly re-PET chip and 3A-grade white flakes prices further.
